Hex5 Digital is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to support digital brand experiences, marketing initiatives, and client-facing design engagements across nonprofit, commercial, and government-adjacent organizations.
This role is best suited for an experienced design professional who combines strong visual craft with strategic thinking and can lead design execution across web, marketing, and brand systems. The ideal candidate understands how to translate business objectives into clear, compelling visual communication while maintaining consistency, accessibility, and usability standards.
Lead the design and execution of digital and print visual assets across client engagements
Develop and maintain cohesive brand systems, style guides, and visual standards
Design user-centered web and marketing experiences in collaboration with UX designers and developers
Produce high-quality layouts, graphics, and visual content for websites, presentations, social media, and campaigns
Translate business, technical, and program requirements into effective visual solutions
Provide art direction and design guidance to junior designers or collaborators when applicable
Ensure brand consistency across multiple platforms and touchpoints
Prepare production-ready files and assets optimized for web and print
Participate in design reviews and incorporate structured feedback
Contribute to internal marketing, proposal, and thought leadership materials as needed
Demonstrated experience as a Senior Graphic Designer or equivalent level role
Strong portfolio showcasing digital, brand, and marketing design work
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Experience designing for web platforms and responsive environments
Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, color theory, and visual hierarchy
Experience collaborating with UX designers and developers
Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and consistency
Strong presentation and communication skills
Experience preparing production-ready design files and asset packages
Experience designing for WordPress or CMS-based websites
Experience supporting government, nonprofit, or regulated environments
Familiarity with accessibility-informed visual design practices
Experience contributing to brand strategy or brand evolution initiatives
Experience supporting proposal development and capability marketing materials
Working knowledge of Figma or other collaborative design platforms
Candidates must be based in the United States
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
Must be eligible to support U.S. government or government-adjacent contracts
DMV-based candidates (Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Northern Virginia) are strongly preferred due to logistical coordination and potential in-person collaboration needs
Highly qualified remote candidates within the United States may also be considered
This role is not expected to be full-time and will be engaged on an as-needed, project-based basis
Work will be scheduled in defined design and delivery cycles aligned to client engagements
Collaboration will be primarily with UX designers, WordPress engineers, and account leadership
